Hello World

Have you ever had your nearly five-year-old stomp over and scowl at you, cookie crumbs dotting the corners of her mouth?

And then had her put her little fist on her hip and point at the science textbook you bought to start working on together at home and say “Mama, there are more things in this book. Why haven’t we done this or these or this yet?”

Nope?

Me neither.

Except that absolutely happened a few days ago.

So, who are we? I am Cait, mother of one darling daughter, Lil. Happily married and as of three weeks ago, I have cut my hours way back at work to focus on supplementing my daughter’s preschool education at home. In addition to Lil, I also have two rescue pitties at home who are just starved for attention.

Up until I did this, I didn’t really think I could. My job is for a corporate company and while I do like the company itself, I have been there a while and a change of scenery is required every now and then.

Apparently there is a thing called work-life balance?

Weird.

After much prayer and some tears, as well as talking all of the details through with my husband every time my anxiety had me questioning my sanity, we made the necessary budget cuts and jumped the gun.

And in case anyone out there cares or is interested in following along, I decided to document our adventures. In the last few weeks, we have had quite a few speed bumps. Despite the detours, I am determined to see this through. Thanks for being along for the ride!
